With a diverse background in utilities and energy, Doug spent over 15 years working for Capgemini in the Energy Practice. During that time, he ascended to the position of CTO of the 12,000-person practice, coinciding with Capgemini’s impressive growth from less than $10 million in energy-related revenue to over $2.4 billion. As part of the global leadership team, he undertook a multifaceted role in thought leadership and project delivery worldwide. Noteworthy achievements during this tenure include the establishment of the Smart Energy Alliance, leadership of the Distribution Roadmap 2025, and the development of smart metering and smart grid practices

In June of 2017, Doug’s career journey led him to Burns & McDonnell, where he assumed the role of Grid Modernization lead. Burns & McDonnell actively supported his continued involvement with the IEEE PES and GWAC. Notable projects included Grid Modernization initiatives for Entergy, emphasizing Grid 3.0, and contributing to Duquesne Light Company’s downtown underground network development. His contributions extended to creating and delivering tutorials for IEEE PES, as well as chairing the IEEE PES iGET CC (Intelligent Grid/Emerging Technology Coordinating Committee).
